Black Milk Clothing launches Game of Thrones Collection

March 10, 2014 by Line Evensen Leave a Comment

Some time ago we came across the news that Black Milk Clothing were to launch a new collection featuring a Game of Thrones theme. And now the time has come! The collection launches March 11th, 2014 – tomorrow. The winter is definitely coming! And you better be prepared, ’cause some of the pieces are limited edition. Here at Black Forest Mag, we are great fans of Game of Thrones, and I – being a black metal chick – love most of the stuff which comes from Black Milk. If you never heard of them, we urge you to visit their website and check out their Instagram and Pinterest.

They are a clothing line which mainly focuses on leggings, tight dresses, bodies and stash – everything nylon. Best known are probably the Star Wars collection, and Black Milks generally playfulness with pretty nerdy themes (like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter etc).

Well, back to the new GoT-collection. What about a legging with the map of Westeros? Or a little dress with dragon scales? Here are some of our favourites from the collection:

And here you can watch the promo video they released a while ago:

And since we’re at it, here is a brand new trailer from the upcoming 4th season of Game of Thrones.

We’re SO exited!

Noell Osvald – young and promising artist

February 18, 2014 by Line Evensen Leave a Comment

About a year ago we discovered some amazing self-portraits by a young woman from Hungary named Noell Osvald.

It was the minimalistic and surreal aestetics that first caught our eyes. When we took a closer look at the pictures, we were impressed by the compositions and the artistic qualities of Noells work.

In an interview with My Modern Met she revealed that the reason for her only using black and white is that she finds colors distracting:

– I feel the same way about clothes and other matters of appearance, which why I like to reduce my images to forms, composition and content.

You can follow Noell at her Flickr, Facebook or her website. You should also do a Google image search. We’re really hoping to see more of this promising artist!

OXMN – new collection from Ovate

February 10, 2014 by Line Evensen Leave a Comment

Ovate is an independent clothing line designed by Audrey Cantwell from Montreal, Canada. We have followed her dark creations for quite some time, and we were thrilled to see her launch a collaboration with Maude Nibelungen which is known for her knitted clothing on Etsy.

Ovate OXMN

While Maude Nibelungens earlier works has a kind of raw and unraveled look, Ovate has a more elegant and ethereal style. The mixture of these characteristics turned out great! We really loved the crocheting on the dress.

I’m sure you will see more of Ovate here at BFM in the future. Hailing from Norway, we of course love the Scandinavian inspired aesthetics in the designs.

OXMN consists of four pieces made of wool and washed leather. This is a limited edition. It’s so limited edition that each style  is limited to eight! So hurry up if you want one. They launch at Ovate.ca Monday, February 10th  6:00 PM (Montreal time).

You can also find Ovate on Facebook, and they have an awsome Tumblr blog.
