Dom Pérignon and David Lynch with Champagne collaboration

February 16, 2014 by Jan F. Lindsø Leave a Comment

Dom Pérignon

Dom Pérignon

Being fans of both David Lynch and… yes, Champagne, it pleased us when we found out that David Lynch did a collaboration with famous vintage Champagne brand Dom Pérignon  in 2012. For most of you, surreal film director David Lynch, is probably most famous for his grand work like Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, and Mulholland Dr. Apart from being a film director, and even a competent photographer, he has now also designed the label of a limited edition of Dom Pérignon. We’re excited!

And yeah, remember to check out filmmaker Luke Gilford’s surrealist portrait of the opening night party for the Champagne:

Papa Emeritus II of Ghost “unmasked”

February 13, 2014 by Jan F. Lindsø Leave a Comment

It’s not a huge secret that Ghost is one of our favorite bands nowadays. Their gig in Bergen, Norway, is probably one of the best gigs we’ve ever been to.

They just released some live videoes recorded at Music Feeds Studio, where Papa Emeritus II performs “unmasked”, and without his significant pope outfit. Here are Ghost performing the Roky Erickson cover ‘If You Have Ghosts’:

I Am Heresy with teasers for new album and video

February 8, 2014 by Jan F. Lindsø Leave a Comment

I Am Heresy - Thy WillLast summer we got a chance to see I Am Heresy (Delaware/New Jersey) at our trip to New York. It was a new experience. Hardcore-oriented music is not really our favorite, but I Am Heresy, is so much more than that. They mix in occult influences, and different genres; all from more acoustic parts, to black/death metal and punk. Really refreshing, and definitely a live band to look out for.

Now they are soon ready to release their album “Thy Will” on Century Media (March 3, 2014 in Europe/Australia/NZ and March 4, 2014 in USA/Canada). They already released a teaser for the album late 2013. Watch it below:

They have even released a track from the album called ‘Rahabh’ , with a lyrical video:

Now they will soon be releasing an official music video for their song ‘March Of Black Earth’, which is taken from their upcoming album. Watch the teaser below:

Wildernessking from South Africa plays atmospheric/post black metal. They released their debut album in 2012, and EP the very same year. Now they are back with a new EP, that was released January 22nd this year. It seems like post black metal is really into a flow right now, and we surely like what we are hearing. We’re looking forward to another full length!

You can buy this EP directly from their bandcamp. We highly recommend it!

Dregen publishes video for ‘Flat Tyre On A Muddy Road’

January 10, 2014 by Jan F. Lindsø Leave a Comment

DregenFor a lot of people, Dregen is probably most famous for being a co-founder of successful Swedish rock acts such as Backyard Babies and Hellacopters. He sort of played in two of Swedens biggest rock bands. Nowadays he even plays in the band of Hanoi Rocks’ Michael Monroe.

In September 2013 Dregen released his first self-entitled solo-album. Probably not the typical music you’ll hear about here at BFM, but if you’re into hard rock of the mentioned bands, you should definitely check out his album.

Anyways, we must admit we really kicked on his completely fresh video for ‘Flat Tyre On A Muddy Road’. The song is not just really cool, but the video is friggin’ awesome as well! In the video Dregen appears bald, and to Classic Rock Magazine he explains his baldness to be a result of ‘post-traumatic stress syndrome’.

Our favorite albums of 2013

December 29, 2013 by Jan F. Lindsø Leave a Comment

2013 has been an amazing year for music of the darker forms. This year has delivered us some albums that will be running on repeat for a while, and even into the new year. You might ask what’s the best release of 2013, so we have enlisted 3 albums we think deserves som extra attention this year. Two of these, released by the bands Ghost and In Solitude, are actually both from Sweden. They both deliver rock/heavy metal with an occult vibe that will send shivers down your spine!

We also added Beastmilk (gotta love that bandname) from Finland to the list. They play, what they call, apocalyptic post-punk, a genre that we predict will mark 2014.

Ghost – Infestissumam

Ghost - Infestissumam
Ghost marked a new peak of success with the release of their sophomore album “Infestissumam”. Papa and The Nameless Ghouls has done it again, and has delivered us a darker, more epic, and mightier album than the debut.

Not even did they release one of the year’s best albums, but they also did some immense gigs and tours. So be sure to check out Ghost live as well, as these cloaked fellas surely deliver on stage as well!

Beastmilk – Climax

Beastmilk - Climax

These Finnish apocalyptic post-punks released their debut album in December 2013, and made it into our list. Be sure to have an eye out for them! More about this release here.

We can’t wait for more news from the Beastmilk-camp. They are also a hot name on our list for bands we wanna see live in 2014.

In Solitude – Sister

In Solitude - Sister

This occult heavy metal band from Sweden does not seem to disappoint us. Definitely one of the highlights of 2013.

Check out the live video for their song “A Buried sun” below:

07. Fear Your Mind
08. Love in a Cold World
09. Surf the Apocalypse

You can easily say that the music year of 2013 ended with a bang. The last month this album has been running on repeat at our headquarter. If you’re up for some apocalyptic post-punk, check this out.
